Who We Want:

The primary responsibility of the Material Follow-Up Coordinator is to data mine, verify, and escalate to ensure the plant has the necessary inventory levels to support production plans to meet safety stock quantities and ultimately customer demand. They will have responsibility to assist in supporting the Materials Manager to achieve departmental objectives and customer satisfaction through ensuring delivery and production plans are put in place that will minimize if not eliminate production disruptions. Additionally, the Material Follow-up coordinator will have responsibility to monitor outside processes and some tier 2 suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to Challenge.

What You'll Do:

  • Help Plan and manage results of Annual Physical Inventories.
  • Track programs launch and sunset activities as well as mass production inventory levels within the plant.
  • Review and Escalate BOM issues within plan.
  • Manage Supply Chain for all plant part supply and escalate past due min/max issues to corporate MRP personnel if issues cannot be resolved internally.
  • Participate in launch meetings to plan out activities in future time periods and audit for BOM accuracy and forecasting parameters.
  • Drive team for thorough analysis of material adjustments and ensure detailed investigation and comprehensive corrective actions are put in place.
  • Driving continuous improvements, problem solving activities around inventory and supply chain KPI’s.
  • Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand.
  • Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods.
  • Promote transparent communications between supplier and customer regarding manufacturing limitations and/or opportunities.
  • Performing other duties as necessary in support of business objectives

When and Where:
This will be a A Shift / 7am - 3:30pm M-F position located at our Plant in Northlake, TX.
Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.

What You Need to Have:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a Materials Planner, Materials Scheduler or closely related role required.
  • Experience with Plex Systems ERP strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in automotive industry preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (major or concentration in Supply Chain Management/Logistics is a strong plus).
